Josh Martin
Educational Therapist
Originally from Mississippi, Josh Martin received his doctorate in Literature and Creative Writing from Georgia State University where he taught composition and creative writing courses. His poems and essays have appeared in Baltimore Review, Nashville Review, Raleigh Review, Carolina Quarterly, Atlanta Review and elsewhere, and his first poetry collection won the 2020 Jacar Press Book Award. Josh has been teaching/tutoring for nearly ten years. In addition to writing, Josh enjoys working with students of all ages and abilities on improving their writing and reading comprehension, and has a special interest in helping students hone their creative nonfiction. He also greatly enjoys snowboarding, hiking, and street photography, and tries to take a creative approach to tutoring whenever possible. He takes pride in his ability to easily relate with students and meet them where they are in order to help them achieve their goals. He is currently an adjunct English professor at Clark Atlanta University.
