Alexa Johnson

Alexa is a graduate of Georgia State University where she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Human Learning and Development with concentrations in Family and Community Literacy and Counseling. Alexa has focused heavily on assessing and instructing students with reading and literacy deficits, early childhood education best practices, the stages of child growth and development, and theory in human motivation and emotion. Alexa held a research fellowship position through Agnes Scott College where she led client communications with families in the Atlanta area.
Alexa also interned in the Georgia State University Department of Organizational Learning and Development designing and implementing improvement processes for continuing education courses. In addition, Alexa has participated in numerous field experiences in local Atlanta classrooms and after school programs focused on low- income and at risk students. Some of Alexa’s fondest memories are of her time spent as a reading and literacy instructor. Additionally, Alexa was actively involved in speech and hearing philanthropy through the Starkey Hearing Foundation. As an Atlanta- area native, Alexa feels deeply connected to the Atlanta community, the local schools and culture surrounding education in the area.
