Nia Barbee
Learning Specialist
Nia Barbee is currently a doctoral student in the Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program at Emory University in Atlanta, where she is actively being trained in intervention and assessment. She received her B.S. in Psychology and a minor in Neuroscience from Columbia University. As the daughter of an educational psychologist, Nia has always been passionate about the effectiveness of early intervention and the importance of catering to a child’s individual needs to facilitate academic success. Prior to beginning her doctoral program, Nia spent two years as a research lab manager at the University of Southern California, where she focused on parent-child interactions and facilitated the dissemination of parenting research to expecting and new mothers. Additionally, Nia has worked for years as an elementary school tutor and as an SAT tutor in New York City and Los Angeles. She ultimately aspires to work as a child neuropsychologist after receiving her doctorate.
Nia is fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as of 2/15/2021.
