Chaela Nutor
Learning Specialist
Chaela received her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania and minored in Hispanic Studies. At Penn, she was involved in research studying child language development and therapeutic interventions for Black youth. Chaela then spent two years at the Yale Child Study Center as a research fellow where she worked with children with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities. Here she did temperament assessments, eye-tracking, and neuroimaging with kids ranging in age from infants to adolescents.
Chaela is currently a graduate student in the Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program at Emory University, where she also earned her Master’s of Arts in Psychology. Chaela has been trained on various assessments and therapy interventions geared towards children. Her current research examines prenatal environmental risk factors that may affect child neurodevelopment. She ultimately aims to work as a child psychologist to better understand the factors that cause developmental trajectories to diverge.
In her free time, Chaela enjoys trying out new restaurants and staying physically active in order to maintain balance.
